Unbelief kept many people from receiving their miracle when Jesus walked the earth. Matthew 13:54–58 NLT tells how the people in Jesus’ hometown rejected Him because of their unbelief:
He returned to Nazareth, his hometown. When he taught there in the synagogue, everyone was astonished and said, “Where does he get his wisdom and his miracles? He’s just a carpenter’s son, and we know Mary, his mother, and his brothers – James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas. All his sisters live right here among us. What makes him so great?”And they were deeply offended and refused to believe in him.
Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his own family.” And so he did only a few miracles there because of their unbelief.
Think of the tremendous number of miracles Jesus could have done if only the people had believed in Him. But unbelief kept them from receiving their miracle. The thing is, it takes just as much effort to doubt as it does to believe!
Personally, I want to be a person of belief. I believe that God can do everything His Word says He can do and that whatever the problem or need, there is nothing too difficult for Him. Let’s set our faith in agreement and believe for your miracle to come to pass as we pray: Lord, I believe You can do what Your Word says You can do. Cast out any doubt and unbelief that is in me. Right now, I release my faith for my miracle and expect to receive. Amen.
