God has placed all of His power and authority in the name of Jesus. Philippians 2:9 NKJV says, “God also has highly exalted him (Jesus) and given him the name which is above every name.”
Through the Name of Jesus, God has given us authority as believers to take dominion over the problems and struggles we face daily. He has established certain principles in His Word which can lead us straight into the realm of the miraculous.
But we must discover these principles for ourselves and then act upon them. Even though God sent Jesus to the cross to defeat Satan and give us all authority in His Name, there is still something for you and me to do.
First, we must make Jesus the Lord of our life. We must believe that He died in our place in order to come into the authority we need to conquer the problems we face. We must believe that through His death and resurrection we were reconciled to God, and that through inviting Jesus into our hearts to take control of our lives, we become the sons and daughters of God…no longer under Satan’s control. That is when the power of Jesus’ Name can begin to work in our lives.
Is the name of the problem you are facing sickness? The Bible says that Jesus’ Name is above every name. That means His Name is above the name of your sickness. Is it an emotional struggle or a troubled relationship with a loved one? Jesus’ Name is above those things as well. Is it a financial crisis that you are facing? Jesus’ Name is above lack. In fact, whatever comes to your mind, no matter what it is, you can be sure that Jesus’ Name is above it!
