All through the Bible there are examples of people who made room for the impossible by using what God had already put in their hands and allowing the power of God to move. In Exodus 14 we see Moses standing on the shore of the Red Sea, after leading two million Israelites out of Egyptian bondage. They had escaped with their lives and most of the riches of Egypt, yet they found themselves with water in front, rocks to the left and right, and the pursuing Egyptian army behind. It looked as though, after having gone only a few miles out of Egypt, they would die by the sea.
The Israelites did what many of us do in a situation like that. They cried out to God in fear. Finally God said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea” (Exodus 14:15–16 NKJV). When Moses stretched out his rod, the waters parted. The Israelites walked across on dry ground, and the Egyptian army drowned in the same waters.
Moses made room for the impossible by using what he had in his hand. You may have a dream in your heart, but you’re wondering, “God, can I do this? Everything looks so impossible!” But nothing is impossible with God! The dream He has placed in your heart can become a reality if you’ll quit trying to figure it out. God has placed incredible ability within you. Use what you have. Quit looking to the economy, your boss, or your family. Look to God. Let Him use what He has placed in you. He has given you gifts and talents that are equally measured to the task. Make room for the impossible, and it can come to pass!
