To live a victorious life, recognize that the battle is the Lord’s. David didn’t go against the giant Goliath in his own strength. He said, “The Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands” (1 Samuel 17:47 NKJV). David knew not to trust in himself, but to place his faith in God. The stones he chose for his slingshot were the tools for the battle, but the answer was in the Spirit of God dwelling in David. With faith released from his heart, he threw the stone, and God guided it to the forehead of the giant, killing him.
Every battle for right is the Lord’s battle. We can never win a battle by ourselves. The Bible says, The weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds (II Corinthians 10:4 AMP).
Are you facing a battle? Maybe you’ve gotten a bad report from your doctor. You may have a loved one who is in trouble. Or your business may be having great difficulty. Whatever your battle, it can be won! Victory can be yours! Fortify your faith with these words:
The Lord is my light and my salvation – so why should I be afraid? The Lord protects me from danger – so why should I tremble? When … my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will know no fear. Even if they attack me, I remain confident … For He will conceal me … when troubles come; He will hide me … Then I will hold my head high, above my enemies who surround me (Psalm 27:1–3,5&6 NLT).
