One of the first things I heard Oral preach when he began the healing ministry was “God is a good God.” I’d never heard anyone say that before, and I asked him how he knew God was good. Oral said, “Evelyn, you know He’s a good God because He healed me from tuberculosis.” I knew that was true. And I’ve seen the Lord heal thousands of people through this ministry. The healing miracles are evidence that God is a good God.
Oral also said, “Evelyn, the Lord has saved you and me.” That was true too. God didn’t have to save us, but the Bible says that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). It is a good God who saves us!
These Bible verses also prove God is a good God:
John 10:10 says, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I [Jesus] am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” It’s a good God who came to give us not just ordinary life, but abundant life!
In James 1:17 NKJV we read, Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Everything good in our lives comes from our good God!
And Matthew 7:11 NKJV gives us these words of Jesus: “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” God is a good God, and it is His nature to give good gifts!
Let’s praise God for the good gifts He has given us and the good things He has done for us. God is a good God!
