There is a very real power that is transmitted when your faith in God is activated. Sometimes it can be felt tangibly. For years I heard people say that sometimes when Oral Roberts laid hands on them, the presence of God was so strong that it felt like they were sticking their fingers in a light socket. He also told stories about doubters who made him roll up his shirt sleeves to show that he didn’t have some kind of electrical wires up his sleeve.
I wondered about that until I experienced it for myself. I used to suffer from migraine headaches. One day after I married Richard, Oral laid hands on me for healing ― and did I ever get a jolt of God’s power! When Oral touched me, it felt like I was standing in a pool of water, and electricity shot through my body from my head to my feet. It was the presence and power of God, and I was healed!
That may have been what happened to the woman with the issue of blood in Mark, Chapter 5. The Bible says the when she pressed through the crowd and touched the hem of Jesus’ robe, immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction (v. 29 NKJV). The healing presence of God literally shot through her body when she reached out and touched Jesus with her faith, and she walked away with her healing.
The Bible says Jesus immediately knew that power had gone out of Him. God’s power is real! And just as it flowed through the woman with the issue of blood when she touched Jesus’ garment, God’s healing virtue is available to you if you will reach out and receive it with your faith!
