When a woman becomes pregnant, she says, “I am expecting.” Each time I was pregnant, I couldn’t see inside my body, but I knew that I was expecting a baby. I knew by my faith that God was creating something miraculous inside me, and soon I would have a baby. That’s expectant faith.
Faith for your needs works the same way. When you have a need, take it to God and say, “Father, this is what is broken in my life, and I believe You can fix it. I need Your healing touch on this situation, and I’m expecting a miracle.”
You may not see God’s answer to your prayer right away, just as I couldn’t see the baby growing inside me for nine months; but 2 Corinthians 5:7 tells us that we walk by faith, not by sight. Begin to say, “In Jesus’ Name, no matter what I see, no matter what I feel, no matter what’s staring me in the face, my God said, “The just shall live by faith, and by faith I’m receiving my miracle according to God’s Word!” That is having expectant faith!
During the nine months I was pregnant with each of my children, I didn’t have a break. I was expecting the entire time—on good days, bad days, happy days, sad days—it didn’t matter; I was still expecting. Treat your faith like that. Stay in an attitude of expectancy. No matter what is happening around you, hold on to the Word of God and expect a miracle.
