“The oath which he swore to our father Abraham that he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, and holiness and righteousness before you, all the days of our life.” Luke 1:73–75
When Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist, prophesied after his son was born, he referred to the oath God swore to Abraham about the Son of God. He said, “That He would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear” (Luke 1:74). Then Zacharias added, “… all the days of our life.”
God was saying through Zacharias that His desire… hundreds of years before in the time of Abraham, was that His people would be able to live without fear. And that His desire for Zacharias was that he and his family would live without fear.
And, friend, God changes not! Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). His desire today is that you also live without fear.
