I was taking out the trash one afternoon when I slipped and fell. I didn’t realize there wasn’t a lid on a container of cooking oil we were throwing away, nor did I see the hole in the trash bag that allowed some of the oil to spill on the kitchen floor. One step was all it took. My feet went straight out from under me. I landed on my side and let out a holler. Although I did not break any ribs, I was pretty badly bruised.
It was difficult for me to sleep that night because of the pain. At 4 o’clock in the morning I woke up, and the Lord led me to go downstairs and pray. I couldn’t get comfortable sitting on the couch, so I got up and started marching around the table in the den. I began to declare the healing that was mine according to I Peter 2:24 NKJV, which says Jesus bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.
I don’t know how many times I marched around that table. I simply kept marching, declaring my healing and praying the Word. I noticed I was getting better and better. By that night, I was able to sing a song on The Place for Miracles that required me to take a deep breath. Before God touched me I could not have sung that song, because taking a deep breath felt like somebody was sticking a knife into my ribs.
God is no respecter of persons. (See Romans 2:11.) If He could heal me while I was marching around a table, declaring the Word and plugging my faith into His healing power, I believe He can do the same for you. Declare your healing and begin to expect your miracle, in the authority of Jesus’ Name!
