Choose you this day, whom ye will serve…but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. —Joshua 24:15
During the dark days of the Civil War, someone expressed to Abraham Lincoln the hope that “the Lord would be on our side.” To this, President Lincoln replied, “I am not concerned about that, for I know that the Lord is always on the side of the right. But it is my constant anxiety and prayer that I, and the nation, should be on the Lord’s side.”
Well, to begin with, in my life, I ask the Lord to guide me in everything I do before I ever make a move. And then, as I proceed in what I feel the Lord wants, I find that God’s will is accompanied by a sense of rest and well-being. There may be outward conflict all around me, but within there is peace. That’s how you too, can know that you are in God’s will and that you are on the Lord’s side.
