Richard Roberts – Second of six parts
There are five things that can be learned from the life of Joseph.
One: You cannot share your dream with just anybody. Joseph shared his dream with his brothers, and his brothers hated him for it. They said, “Let’s kill him and see what becomes of his dreams.”
When you share indiscriminately with everybody, someone will misunderstand. Proverbs 19:2 tells us it’s not good to be hasty and to miss the mark. Moses had a dream. His dream was to deliver Israel out of Egyptian bondage. He got ahead of God, and before he knew it, he killed an Egyptian and had to run for his life. After forty years on the run from God, God finally said to him, “The last time you went in your strength, but this time you will go in Mine.”
You cannot share your dream with just anybody. Hold it close to you. When God called me into the healing ministry, my wife and I joined together and began to pray. We didn’t announce it. We didn’t tell anybody. We just kept it to ourselves and began to confess by faith that the healing ministry God said He was giving to us would actually come to pass.
Days passed, weeks passed, months passed, and nothing happened. We continued to hang on to the dream that God had placed in our hearts.
You can’t share your dream with just everybody. Hold it close. God will show you who to share it with.
