If you’re like me, you don’t always know exactly how to pray for certain situations. But thank God, He has given us the Holy Spirit to help us when we don’t know what to pray. Roman 8:26 NKJV says, The Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
When we pray in tongues, we’re connecting with the Holy Spirit. And that means we’re connecting to a higher realm than we’re capable of in our flesh. The spirit realm is a higher dimension. It’s a dimension where our minds can’t mess things up, and we can pray in the perfect will of God. When I pray, I want to pray the will of God, not my own thoughts and opinions.
My father-in-law, Oral Roberts, used to say it this way, “When you pray in the Spirit by praying in tongues, your limited mind is put on hold and your spirit opens up to the unlimited resources of God.”
When you pray in your limited human understanding, you can only go so far. But when you tap into God’s perfect will through praying in the Spirit, you are availing yourself of His unlimited power. Praying in the Spirit takes you out of your own understanding and connects you to the realm of the supernatural. There is power in that!
