Richard Roberts – Second of two parts
The church in Honolulu was a powerful place of worship that day. The major contributing factor to what God was doing was the atmosphere that had been created by the pastor at that time. It was an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit was allowed to move.
In the first service that morning God said, “This sign shall follow them that believe. They shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.” Who is they? If you are a believer, you’re a part of “they.” You have a Bible right to believe that when you lay hands on the sick, people will begin to recover. You’re not doing the healing. God is doing the healing. When God told me, “I’m going to call you into a healing ministry” I said, “God, what if I fail?” And He said, “You’ve already failed. Besides, you are not going to heal them. I am.”
Many Christians are afraid to pray for the sick because they’re afraid of failure. There are also many who pray and when someone doesn’t get healed, they make an even worse mistake by saying, “Well, you didn’t have any faith.” That is a terrible thing to say to someone, especially when the Bible says God has given to every person the measure of faith (see Romans 12:3). How could you take away what God gave them?
I closed that service by giving people an opportunity to receive the Lord as Savior. I said, “I know there are those here who don’t know Jesus as Savior, You may be a church member, you may even read your Bible, but you don’t know the God of the Bible. The Bible says that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, but a sinner is a person who has made sin a way of life. Unless you repent—and repentance means to change your mind so God can change your heart—you will lose your soul. Make a personal commitment of your life to Jesus Christ. Lift your hands and begin to praise Him!”
And you can do the same today…right where you are.
