I once read a story of a well-known entertainer who traveled to several foreign countries where he entertained children in hospitals. In one hospital, he wondered aloud why the children had to suffer. A man said, “I guess it’s God’s will for them.” His comment upset the entertainer — to think that someone would blame a merciful God for the torments of the children! He turned to the man and said, “Look at your own little child when it’s suffering and in pain and say, ‘Honey, God did this to you.’ I believe that will change your philosophy!”
God does not cause illness. Acts 10:38 states, God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. Sickness is an oppression of the devil, and Jesus came against sickness and disease with healing in the touch of His hands and in every word He spoke. He spent two-thirds of His ministry healing people and making them whole.
You were not born to be sick or diseased. Healing can be yours through Christ who said, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind (Luke 4:18). Matthew 8:17 says, Himself [Jesus] took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses. Because of Jesus’ death on the Cross, we have a Bible right to healing and health. God wants you to be a whole person. Reach out and receive your healing today, in Jesus’ Name.
