Giving Christmas gifts is symbolic of the fact that God gave us His best present. He gave His son, Jesus. And the good news is, God gave Him for a reason — that mankind would not perish but would have everlasting, abundant life.
Back in the Garden of Eden, mankind sinned and fell away from God. It was God’s desire to restore us back to Himself, so He had a Baby born.
We celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas Day, but Christmas is more than just the birth of a baby, for Jesus grew up to be a man. God anointed and ordained His ministry, and He went to the Cross for a purpose. That purpose is you and me. Jesus took on your sin and my sin. He took on your sickness and my sickness. We can be free — free from sin, free from sickness and disease and free from lack.
Jesus died on the Cross, was buried, and rose again on the third day. He is not a dead Jesus; He is a live Jesus! Whenever a person comes to Christ, it is God’s gift being fulfilled. That is what Christmas is all about.
