Cooperate with God

Richard Roberts

God had given Abraham a promise, but there was something that Abraham had to do in order to see that promise fulfilled. The Apostle Paul put it this way: “And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb; He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God” (Romans 4:19–20).

Let me ask you a question: Who caused that baby to start growing in Sarah’s womb? Abraham couldn’t have done it without God, but…God chose to do it with Abraham and Sarah. The birth of Isaac required divine and human cooperation; the natural chose to cooperate with the supernatural.

In order to build your faith into strong faith, you must be willing to plant your faith… do something with your faith, act on your faith, take a step that is beyond your human ability…even as you trust God to hold you up and cause something new and wonderful to break forth!

Cooperating with God means doing it His way. I know that in my life, I’ve told God how to do it, when to do it, where to do it, and who to do it to … but He’s never done it my way … and I’m glad! God’s way is best. It’s up to us to line up with His way and then do our part.

Every farmer knows that unless God causes a seed to germinate, there won’t be a crop. But every farmer also knows that unless he plants the seed into the ground, God can’t produce a harvest.

I encourage you to join in partnership with God today and begin to expect your miracle as you cooperate with a miracle-working God.
