Richard Roberts – First of three parts
I am so glad that we’re not living in an age of judgment, punishment or vengeance, but instead, we’re living in an age of God’s mercy and restoration power. There is a judgment day where every man and every woman will stand before God. But today, we’re living in a day of mercy―of God’s salvation, healing, deliverance, of His miracles, and of His restoration power.
Psalm 51 tells us there is nothing you’ve done that God cannot forgive.
Remember the story of David who was anointed by Samuel, the prophet? King Saul had fallen into disfavor with God, and the anointing had been taken away from Saul, and it broke Samuel’s heart. God spoke to Samuel and said, “Go down to the house of Jesse and anoint a new king.” So Samuel went to Jesse’s house and said, “Bring me your sons.” Jesse proudly paraded his fine sons before Samuel, and each time one came by, Samuel said, “No, this is not the one. Don’t you have any more sons?”
“Yes, as a matter of fact, I have one more,” Jesse said. “He’s in the field tending the sheep. His name is David.”
When Samuel saw David, he knew that was the chosen one of God to be the new king of Israel. The Bible says that Samuel anointed David to be king, and from that hour, the Spirit of God was upon David.
The day came when King Saul died, and David was made king over all of Israel, and the word of the prophet came true. David was a good king. The Bible says that he was a man after God’s own heart. He loved God with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength.
But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. – Psalm 130:4
