Don’t Be Intimidated!

Richard Roberts

I believe that the salvation of a soul is the greatest miracle of all. But God’s miracle power doesn’t stop with salvation. Jesus said, “After the Spirit comes upon you, you will be My witnesses.” There is a miracle of boldness made available to every Christian ― man, woman, boy, and girl. It is a miracle of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Before I was born again, I was ashamed of the Gospel. After I was saved and baptized with the Holy Spirit, I found that I also had received a baptism of boldness to tell people about the saving, healing, delivering power of Jesus Christ.

“But I’m not very comfortable sharing my faith,” you may say. Or, “It’s not my personality to be bold enough to tell people about Jesus.”

Let me point out to you that it is the devil’s job to try to intimidate you as a Christian, and to cause you to be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As long as he can intimidate you into keeping your mouth shut, no one will hear the Gospel from your lips, and therefore, you will not have taken the opportunity to lead someone to Christ.

Don’t let the devil intimidate you!

I encourage you today to ask God for a “baptism of boldness” so you can defeat the devil in this area of your Christian life. Ask the Holy Spirit to well up inside your spirit so that you will WANT to tell others about Jesus. Ask the Holy Spirit to cause you to be aware of the hurts and needs in others, and to be sensitive to those times when it is best to share the Gospel of Jesus. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you courage to speak in the Name of the Lord!
