Richard Roberts – Faith Series – Second of six parts
The Bible teaches that we are saved by grace through faith. Ephesians 2:8–9 states very plainly, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift if God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Yes, we’re saved BY GRACE. Grace is the unmerited favor of God. It’s the imparting of God’s forgiveness and presence to us. It is the indwelling of our spirits by His Spirit. We can’t save ourselves spiritually.
The grace of God begins to operate in our lives, however, when we begin to use our faith. We are saved by grace THROUGH FAITH. Our salvation doesn’t come through anything we do. Some people I know say, “Well, if I just attend church enough,” or “If I just give enough to good causes,” or, “If I’m just a good person.” Although those are good, they won’t get the job done. You are saved through faith―through choosing to believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. That He died on the Cross as God’s chosen sacrifice for your sins. That He rose the third day and ascended into Heaven, where He is seated at the right hand of the Father until He comes again and reigns forever as the King of kings and Lord of lords!
Your faith is absolutely essential to your being born again. It’s absolutely essential for a life of miracles on this earth. It’s absolutely essential for you to have the gift of everlasting life. (See John 3:16-17.)
Activate your faith today. Believe God for the miracle you need.
