Did you eat breakfast this morning? Supposedly, it’s the most important meal of the day. And if you ate breakfast, did you eat a healthy breakfast? Many times we tend to eat whatever is available or easy to fix rather than what is actually best for us.
I believe it’s so important to feed your soul the right kind of food. Just like your stomach, your soul (your mind, will, and emotions) is going to get used to whatever you feed it. And much like our stomach, our soul can begin to crave whatever we feed it.
In Matthew 5:6 NKJV Jesus said, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” Well, here’s just a question to think on. What did you feed your soul today? Did you feed it with the world’s garbage or trash? Did you feed it full of things you shouldn’t be watching, words you shouldn’t be saying, or music you should not be listening to? Or did you feed it full of the Word or something filled with God’s Word? I have said so often that what we are full of will manifest. What goes in will come out.
We can get just as excited to feed our soul as we get excited to feed our stomachs. I believe when we feed our soul the Word… not the world, we can get to the place where we crave the Word of God. It can become a habit, a cycle, a spiritual cycle that, I believe, you will want to continue the rest of your life.
What you feed your stomach lasts for a short time, but what you feed your soul can last you throughout eternity!
