According to the Word of God, fear is the opposite or “reversed” form of faith.
“How?” you may ask.
Look at a coin in your hand. One side we call “heads” and the other “tails.” They are opposite sides of the same coin. Faith and fear are like two sides of the coin of “believing.” Faith is right believing; fear is wrong believing.
Fear believes that there is no help in God. Fear believes that we are left alone, without a higher power to Whom we can hand over our uncertainties, perplexities, problems, and needs. Fear puts us in the dark, groping our way through an unending maze of situations too hard for us. Fear puts God beyond our reach and makes Him inadequate in every troubling situation or circumstance.
Faith believes that God is the Source of our total supply… that God is for us… that God wants us to be in total health — body, soul, spirit, relationships, finances—that God is our ever–present help in trouble… that God holds the answers to our questions and the solutions to our problems and the miracles we need to see our needs met. And that God’s desire is to see our needs met, our questions answered, and our problems solved (3 John 2)!
