God Always Loves You

Lindsay Roberts

None of us are perfect. There are times when we all make mistakes. Of course, we should always try to do what’s right, but sometimes we fall short. However, that doesn’t mean God doesn’t love us. Jesus didn’t go to the Cross for us because of our badness; He went because of His goodness. And He would have laid down His life for you even if you were the only one on earth. He loves you that much.

I often think about how much I love my children. I would do anything for them. But our heavenly Father loves us even more than that. Romans 5:8 NIV says that He loved us while we were still sinners—when we didn’t deserve His love at all! That’s how much He loves us!

First John 4:8 says: God is love. He is love itself. He doesn’t love you today and then not love you tomorrow because of something you did or didn’t do. So often we love people who are easy to love, and we avoid the people who aren’t. But God isn’t like that. When you accept His Son, Jesus, as your Lord and Savior, you are in His family and you are one with Him. His love for you never changes; it’s always the same.

For example, say that I drink every day from my favorite coffee cup. One day I might have hot chocolate in it, and the next day I might have tea. The cup may have different things in it, just as I might have different circumstances going on in my life each day, but the cup stays the same. God is like that. No matter what changes or circumstances are going on in your life, nothing shall be able to separate [you] from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:39). He will always love you!
