Do you ever feel as if nothing you do matters? That your part is so small it doesn’t make a difference? That what you have to give to God is too little to mean anything? Let me share a powerful story from the Bible with you!
In 2 Kings chapter 7 we read about a simple act of faith on the part of four sick and dying men, and how God turned their act into a mighty miracle. The city of Samaria was under siege by the Syrian army and at the city gates sat four lepers, who said, “If we go into the city, we’ll die of the famine there. There’s no food here either. The only thing we can do is march toward the Syrian camp. If the soldiers have pity, we’ll live. If they don’t, well, we’ll soon die anyway.” So, in the evening, they began to walk towards the enemy camp.
Now their move was an act of faith. These four men were doing the only thing they could do….but they were also doing EVERYTHING they could do. They trusted God with the consequences as they gave their best effort. What did God do? He multiplied their act of faith! The Bible says that the Lord “made the host of the Syrians to hear the noise of chariots, and noise of horses, even the noise of a great host” until the soldiers became so scared they arose and fled, leaving behind their tents, provisions, animals, food, and money! (See 2 Kings 7:3-8.)
God multiplied the sound of the footsteps of those four starving, leprous men into a mighty roar. An entire army fled against an enemy of four!
You can trust God today to multiply what you do as a faith step for Him into far more than you can ever imagine. Your little becomes big in His hands!
