God Is Concerned

One of the most amazing verses in the Bible is found in Matthew 10:30 NKJV where Jesus said, “The very hairs of your head are all numbered.” Think about that! God knows us better than we know ourselves. He doesn’t just love us in a general sort of way. He’s concerned with the intricate details of our lives.

Knowing how much God cares about even the little things in our lives helps us to pray more effectively. Some people think, Oh, my problem is too small to pray about. But in this passage of Scripture, Jesus explains the value God places on His children and His concern for small things that affect us. He notices when a sparrow falls to the ground and He assures us that we are of more value than many sparrows (v. 31). God wants us to talk to Him about the ordinary needs of our daily lives. He is concerned with our cares, whether in the workplace or in our families.

My first thoughts when I get out of bed each morning are to pray for my daughters. I pray about what they are facing that day. If one daughter has an important appointment, I pray about that. If one has an event coming up, I pray about that event. Now, if we as earthly parents are concerned about these things for our children, how much more is our heavenly Father concerned about their needs―and ours? First Peter 5:7 NLT says, Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about what happens to you. That includes every need and every problem you have, big or small.
