Many times when we face difficult tests and trials, we think it’s because we’re not in God’s will. But often that’s when we’re right in the middle of it!
That’s the situation the disciples faced in Luke 8. Jesus had directed them to cross the Sea of Galilee because He had a divine mission to accomplish there. But their boat was suddenly struck by a great storm.
If Jesus told you, “Let’s get into a boat so I can heal a man on the other side of the lake,” would you be in the perfect will of God if you went with Him? Of course you would! And that’s the safest place to be—right in the middle of God’s will! Surely the disciples were in God’s will when they were out on the Sea of Galilee that day. And yet, without warning, the storm showed up! Why! I don’t know. But I’ve got news!
Finding yourself in the middle of a storm does not mean that you’re out of the will of God. Sometimes He allows some kind of test or trial so you can have a fresh demonstration of the power of the Holy Spirit in your life!
