Resisting temptation works the same way. We all face temptations ― even Jesus was tempted by Satan in the wilderness. But He overcame by quoting the Word to the devil. It’s not a sin to be tempted. It’s yielding to temptation that’s a sin.
The best way to avoid giving in to temptation is not to give it a chance. Don’t entertain the thought. Learn to just say no to anything that may tempt you to sin. The Bible says, Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). By immersing yourself in the Word and casting down every thought that does not bring glory to God, you can stand against the devil and any temptation he might bring your way.
