Richard Roberts – Third of four parts
In making daily decisions about whether something is God’s will for your life, ask yourself this additional vital question: Does it line up with the Word of God?
God will not break the promises that He has already made in His Word, the Holy Bible.
God will not supersede the commandments that He has given to us in His Word.
God will not fail to save us and deliver is when we call upon Him according to His Word.
The Bible teaches that God’s Word is our foundation. It is absolutely pure (Proverbs 30:5). It causes faith to rise up inside us (Romans 10:17). It is “quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). It is the “sword of the Spirit” in the hands of those who battle the devil (Ephesians 6:17). It is the same Word by which all of creation was created (2 Peter 3:5).
Make a commitment today to know more of God’s Word. Put yourself in position to hear the Word preached and taught on a regular basis. Read your Bible, knowing as you read it… God will not ask you to do or say anything that is contrary to His Word.
