The older I get, the more I realize how much I don’t know. I don’t have all the answers, but I’m willing to pray, “God, teach me Your ways. Help me to have a teachable spirit.” God can teach us when we are moldable and pliable in His hands. I’ve always encouraged my children to have a teachable spirit; to be willing to learn and be corrected.
We are teachable when we are willing to listen to godly counsel and accept constructive criticism, when we have a childlike readiness to learn. Let us pray with the psalmist, Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you (Psalm 25:4,5 NIV).
