Make a Faith Declaration

Richard RobertsFirst of two parts

Jesus said in Mark 11:22–23: “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

The problem with most Christians is they speak to their mountain [their problem], but then they begin to doubt. They come into a service, get all charged up with the move of the Holy Spirit, and then they walk out and begin to “wonder as they wander.”

Inside, they were watching and praying. But outside, they are praying and looking at their watches. They cancel out their prayer. They cancel out their faith.  They cancel out their word of faith. Inside, they entered into a faith contract with God: “God, I believe. I set my faith in agreement with Your Word and I am not going to doubt.” Then, when they go outside, they think, I wonder, God, if this is going to work. I wonder. What they have spoken is canceled out! We have to make a faith declaration and then stick with it.

When you make a contract, you have to stick to that contract or you will have a good chance of winding up in court. If you don’t stick to the contract you made, somebody will come after you. When you sign your name, if you don’t keep your word, you might be in jeopardy.

Jesus is saying, “When you make a faith declaration, watch your faith words. Don’t cancel out your agreement.” So many Christians lose out on their miracle because they wonder if God will do what they already agreed that God was going to do. So make a faith declaration. Then have faith in God!
