A little boy was awakened one night by a thunderstorm. Soon his dad and mother were awakened, too, by the sound of his little footsteps running down the hall. He plopped up into the middle of their bed and with big ol’ tears rolling down his cheeks, he said, “I’m scared, Daddy, I’m scared, Mommy.”
The father put his arms around the little boy and said, “Son, it’ll be all right. It’s just a storm. It’ll pass. God is in your room with you, son.”
He took the boy back and tucked him into bed. Soon, the little boy was fast asleep. It wasn’t long, however, until there was another clap of thunder and a flash of lightning, and once again, the little boy was plopping into the middle of their bed, saying, “I’m scared.”
The mother asked. “Son, didn’t you hear Daddy tell you that God’s in your room with you?”
The son replied, “I know Mommy, But I need somebody with skin.”
God sent His Son, Jesus, to this earth because we human beings needed “somebody with skin” to show us what God is like. Jesus said, “He that Hath seen me hath seen the Father” (John 14:9).
