Taking What Is Ours

Lindsay Roberts

When our girls were growing up, we had a tradition in our family that when each of our daughters reached a certain age, she would get a puppy. When our third daughter, Chloe, got her puppy, it came into a house already filled with dogs!

Chloe named her three-pound poodle Angel. Angel was the sweetest puppy…until another dog touched something that belonged to her! It didn’t matter that she was smaller and younger than the other dog, it was her property and she knew it. Angel wasn’t going to let another dog have what was rightfully hers!

I believe it’s time for the body of Christ to be like Chloe’s dog and take what is rightfully ours. You have a Bible right to the peace, well-being, and wholeness Jesus purchased on the Cross!

Isaiah 53:5 AMP says: But he {Christ} was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.

Jesus suffered and died in our place. He conquered Satan once and for all. That means Jesus has already purchased our healing and wholeness. It’s already done! Now it’s up to us to lay claim to what God has promised us. We do that by agreeing with the Word of God and declaring it over our lives and the lives of our loved ones on a daily basis. And as we claim God’s promises, we can live in victory in every area of our lives.
