The God I Know

Richard Roberts

Some people think of God as an old man sitting on a throne up in heaven with a big stick in His hand, just waiting for us to make a mistake so He can whip us. But that’s not the God I know. The God I know is not a condemning God. He is not against us. He is for us. And He loves us. God showed how much He loves us when He sent His only Son to the Cross to save us.

Memorize John 3:16–17 today. It says: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Write those words on your heart, because they can help you know God better.
