When Jesus calmed the storm for His disciples, they said to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!” (Luke 8:25 NKJV) This is the question of the ages: Who is this Man called Jesus, God’s only Son?
Jesus was so much God, it was as if He were not man. Yet He was so much man, it was as if He were not God. He was God in man and man in God.
When He was born in a manger, He was man. But at the age of twelve, when He answered the questions of the religious leaders in the temple, He was God.
When He went to a wedding in Cana, He was man. But when He turned the water into wine, He was God,
When He wept over the death of His friend, Lazarus, He was man. But when He stood before the tomb and said, “Lazarus, come forth,” He was God.
When they whipped Him, and beat Him, and nailed Him to a cross, He was man. But when He said, “It is finished,” He was God.
When they took down His lifeless body and put it in a tomb, He was man. But three days later when He rose from the dead and said, “Because I live, you shall live also,” He was God.
When He said to Thomas, “Touch the nail prints in My hands,” He was man. But when He ascended into the heavens to sit at the right hand of God and to send us His Holy Spirit, He was God.
This is Jesus of Nazareth, the One who has conquered death, and through faith in Him, you can conquer every storm you face in life.
