Recipe for Success

Lindsay Roberts

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things. – Jeremiah 33:3

One time, when I was baking some cookies, I couldn’t get the batter the right consistency. I decided I would go ahead and bake the cookies anyway, and they were terrible.

Finally it dawned on me that I had left out one of the most important ingredients – the eggs. There was no way that batch of cookies was going to turn out right because it simply was not the way the recipe called for the cookies to be made.

One of the most important ingredients in our lives is PRAYER. Sometimes in our hectic pace of modern living we can forget to include prayer in our lives. Then we wonder why things begin to go wrong. Prayer is a pause from our “busyness” to find out from God where to go and what to do. It is a time to realign, refocus, and restore our priorities … to put God’s will before ours.

Prayer, like those forgotten eggs, may seem to be a little thing. But oh, the importance of little things! Without prayer, we go our own way and often fail. With prayer, we can follow God’s recipe for success in our lives.
