Many people I meet view God as a harsh judge who is just waiting to pronounce a sentence upon them. If we think of God like that, we’ll not have His wisdom. Wisdom is rooted in having the right understanding of God, which is knowing that God is a good God who does everything for the ultimate good of those who live for Him.
The Bible teaches that wisdom — knowing what to do in every situation and how to discern every spirit — begins when we have a reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord. This type of fear is not the same as being scared. This kind of fear is a deep respect and awe of the Lord … being overwhelmed before Him because He is so wonderful, so powerful, so good, and so loving.
Proverbs 1:7 AMP says, The reverent and worshipful fear of the lord is the beginning and the principal and choice part of knowledge {its starting point and its essence}.
Are you facing a problem or circumstance and you don’t know which way to turn? Ask God for wisdom. James 1:5 NIV says, If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generally to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
What a comfort it is to know that God want us to have His wisdom. He is just waiting for us to turn to Him and ask for it. Believe that God not only wants you to have His wisdom, but that He is going to give it to you just when you need it. Ask Him for wisdom; then expect to receive it!
