A Beginning without an Ending

From the archives of Oral Roberts

In John 2, we read about Jesus’ miracle of turning water into wine at a marriage feast in Cana. The Apostle John concludes his telling of the story with these words, “The beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him” (John 2:11).

This miracle marks the beginning of a story that has no ending! There’s no place where we read, “This marks the ending of miracles that Jesus did.” There’s no place in the entire Bible where we find the words, “This was the last miracle performed by Jesus.” That’s because Jesus is still working miracles! We may talk about His latest miracle in our lives, but never His last miracle!

Recently, Evelyn and I were contacted by a Partner who told us about a growth on her face that was rapidly becoming bigger and wider and deeper. She was filled with fear about it. I asked her to tell me the exact position of the growth, and then I said, “I’m going to touch my darling wife, Evelyn, as a point of contact for my faith, and I’m going to pray as if I’m touching you on that exact spot of your face. Because Jesus is in you and Jesus is in me, there’s no distance in prayer. Release your faith to God as I pray. Let’s believe for Jesus’ next miracle!”

I prayed for Evelyn, and as I did, the power of God came down my arm and through my hand and out of my hand into her. Evelyn told me later, “Oral, that power was so great it almost knocked me over.” The person on the other end of the telephone also felt it.

Later that night, she went out to dinner with her husband. She left the table to go to the ladies’ room, and when she looked in the mirror, she noticed that the entire growth had disappeared. She rushed back to her husband and said, “Honey, look at my face. That growth is gone!”

Was that the last miracle that Jesus did? No! It was the next miracle in His ongoing miracle ministry of healing and deliverance!

Believe for Jesus’ next miracle in your life today.
