There are three mistakes a fool makes:
The first mistake a fool makes is he tries to find God without having faith in God.
If you do a Bible study on faith you’ll find that it says, Let him ask in faith (James 1:6), The prayer of faith shall save the sick (James 5:15), Earnestly contend for the faith (Jude 3), Fight the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12), We walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7), and Have faith in God (Mark 11:22).
Jesus said in Matthew 9:29, According to your faith be it unto you. Notice Jesus did not say according to your fate or your fame. He did not say according to your fortune, your family, or your friends. He said according to your faith.
There are people who have weak faith, because Paul said in Romans 14:1, Him that is weak in the faith receive ye. There are also those who have little faith and those who have dead faith. The Bible says in James 2:17, Faith, if it hath not works, is dead. You can have faith that’s dead, and you can also have faith that’s vain faith. The Apostle Paul said in 1Corinthians 15:14, Your faith is also vain [empty].
What we need is a steadfast faith, an unshakable faith, an immovable faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). Thank God for hope! So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17).
Love instigates, hope hesitates, but faith investigates. Love abides at the door, hope knocks on the door, and faith answers the door.
