Richard Roberts
Some years ago I held a crusade in the city of Douala in Cameroon, Africa, and during our last night there, a man came in with the sole purpose of breaking up our meeting. He told us later that the devil had spoken to him, and had told him that as a Satanist, he was to come to Richard Roberts’ crusade and destroy the meeting to stop the power of God.
This man hadn’t counted, however, on the Name of Jesus. He came to the meeting after the service had started and as he stood in the back while I preached the Word of God, the power of the authority of the Name of Jesus hit him. He told me and the crowd gathered there, “Pastor Roberts, when you preached I felt the devil go out and Jesus come in. Not only that, but then when you began to pray, all the pain that’s been in my back and my neck for years instantly left me.”
Friend, that’s God’s divine hand at work. The Bible says that “The Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12).
Furthermore, the Bible proclaims that at the Name of Jesus every knee shall bow … and every tongue confess … that Jesus Christ is Lord (See Philippians 2:10,11).
When God’s power comes on our lives, He not only can take out the devil and sin within us, but He can put back in His Holy Spirit and His healing power to cleanse us and make us whole.
Are you struggling against the devil today? Quote the Word of God to him. Use the Name of Jesus. Insist that the thing that is coming against your life MUST bow to the Name and authority of Jesus Christ our Lord.
