‘Five Secrets God Has Shown Me’

Richard Roberts Part One of Two Parts

I want to share five secrets God has shown me. Most of them have come through my own father’s ministry. Oral Roberts lived them.

The first secret God showed me is that we can be blessed and not stressed. And we are blessed for a reason¾so that we might become a blessing.

Scripture teaches us to be anxious for nothing and to live one day at a time (see Philippians 4:6). To do this we must get into the Word. Psalm 1:1,2 says, Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. God wants to bless us. We don’t have to lie awake at night worrying. We can cast the care of our worries onto Him and never take them back.

The second secret is to decide that you’re going to make it even though you don’t know how. We don’t have to figure everything out. I don’t know how a black cow can eat green grass and give white milk that makes yellow butter. I don’t have all the answers. God’s Word says that His ways are above our ways. His thoughts are above our thoughts. And He takes the things that the world calls foolish and uses them to confound the wise.

So stop being so analytical. Take God’s promises on faith. Faith is what you hold on to until you receive what you’re believing for (Hebrews 11:1). Learn how to say, “I’m going to make it even though I don’t know how I’m going to make it.” God will show you how.
