The Rest of the Secrets

Richard Roberts Part Two of Two Parts

The third secret is to honor God in all that you do. Do you have any sin in the camp? Joshua did. He was losing battles, and he knew something was wrong. He didn’t know exactly what it was until he found that Achan had stolen loot from a battle, and that sin had to be dealt with (see Joshua 7:13-26).

When I do something wrong, I know it. I get on my knees and say, “God, I repent. I’m so sorry. Forgive me. Cleanse me and help me not to do that again.” Thank God, He said, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9).

The fourth secret I learned is: Begin to give to God as never before. We sow 10 percent of every dollar that comes into our ministry away from ourselves. The scourge of Christianity today is debt. God wants us out of debt. An end-time harvest of souls is waiting out there, and Satan is not going to finance that harvest. The Gospel is free, but it takes money to publish it. The body of Christ is responsible, and we’re going to have to get out of debt to reap the harvest.

The final secret is to receive a fresh touch of the Holy Spirit. David said, “I will be anointed with fresh oil” (see Psalm 92:10). Just like our cars, we need an oil change. And how do we get it? We just ask. Say, “God, I want a fresh touch of Your Spirit.” Then pray and get into the Word. When you get the Word in you, you become alive and full of power. And you’re able to do bigger and mightier things for God than you ever thought possible.

These secrets worked for my dad, and they have literally shaped my life and ministry. They have helped make me what I am today. And if they work for us, they’ll work for you too!
