From the archives of Oral Roberts
A man came to me recently and said, “Oral Roberts, you’re always talking about believing in God and having faith in God. The hardest thing in the world for me is to believe in God.”
I said, “That’s not the hardest thing for me. That’s the easiest thing!”
“How is it that you find it easy?” he asked.
“Because God is God. The Lord said through one of his prophets, ‘I am the Lord, I change not’ (Malachi 3:6). In another place in the Bible we read, Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). You can trust God because He Is, and His character through the ages and all eternity doesn’t change. He is ALWAYS going to be the Savior, the Healer, the Deliverer, the Mighty Fortress, the Provider, the Source of your Life. Whatever He was and did in Bible times, He is and does today.”
I went on to say to this man, “The hardest thing for me to believe is that God has faith in me! And yet I know that is true also! He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to go to the cross, to die, and to be resurrected for me. God sent His Holy Spirit to indwell me, and promises that I will live with Him forever in Heaven. He has made a way for every need in my life to be met through the miracle of Seed-Faith―planting my faith as an act of giving and then receiving God’s harvest of supply. Yes…God has faith in ME…and He has faith in YOU.”
Friend, that’s the greatest fact that you can ever grasp hold of in this life… God believes in YOU! He’s on your side!
