From the archives of Oral Roberts
Evelyn and I were once fishing in a little boat on a lake in Wyoming with some friends. Evelyn was catching trout, one right after the other, and I wasn’t catching a thing. The man we were fishing with looked over at me and said, “Oral, what’s the matter? I thought you were a good fisherman.” I didn’t say anything. Then he continued, “You haven’t caught a thing.”
All of a sudden, I had a fish on the line. I reeled it in, took it off the hook, and threw in back into the water. Another fish was soon on my line. I reeled it in, took it off the hook, and threw it back. I was soon reeling in my third fish.
They said, “What in the world are you doing?’
I said, “I’m using the Bible.”
“What do you mean, you’re using the Bible?” they asked.
“The Bible says in Genesis 1:26 that God gives us dominion over the fish of the sea,” I explained, “and I’m taking dominion over them! Glory be to God!”
