God Lifts Us Up

Lindsay Roberts

The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations.–2 Peter 2:9 NKJV

John 12:32 says, If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me. Anyone can put you down. You can even put yourself down. But Jesus came to lift you up. Psalm 3:3 says: Thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter of mine head.

I really believe that if we demonstrate the love and compassion of Jesus Christ, it will lift people out of the mess they’re in. For example, we probably all know people who smoke. We may not like the fact that they smoke, and most likely they don’t like the fact that they smoke. But we don’t have to put them down. Instead, we can lift them up to the power of God for deliverance.

Perhaps some of us—or our family members—are addicted to something. It could be an addiction to a chemical, a prescription drug, or even a compulsive behavior such as an eating disorder. It may be something that’s normal to everybody else, but we are addicted, and we go overboard on it. It is important to remember that God is not against the one addicted. He is for our health and wants us to be healed. He wants to lift us up, not put us down.

I pray for any addiction that you or a loved one may be going through to be broken off supernaturally in the Name of Jesus, so that God can demonstrate His love, compassion, and mercy to you. I pray for God to touch you and set you free.I pray for God to lift you up and show you the love and compassion of Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
