Richard Roberts – First of three parts
Over the past years, I have learned how to work my way out of some of the messes I have found myself in. I know I’m not the only one who gets in a mess sometimes, so God has sown me this spiritual formula to share with you on how to get out of one.
Number one ― Decide you’re going to make it no matter what it looks like. It may be dark, it may be rough, the mountain peaks may be high, the valleys may be deep, but you have to make a “Holy Ghost decision” that no matter what it looks like, you are going to make it. It doesn’t matter what people think, say, or believe about you. What matters is what you think, what you say, and what you believe.
More importantly, however, is what God’s Word says. Get in line with God’s Word, then decide that you’re going to make it. It takes a decision with your mind first. Why? Because it’s your mind that gets confused…your spirit is never confused.
When you repent and come to God, you are really changing your mind. You’re not changing your heart. You cannot change your heart; only God can change your heart. God will not change your mind; you must change your mind. The word “repent” means a change of mind. You change your mind so God can change your heart.
The Bible tells us that Jehoshaphat said, We have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee (II Chronicles 20:12).
Our eyes are upon You, Lord! That is the Key! Jehoshaphat was saying, “No matter what it looks like, God, I know You’re going to bring victory!”
