From the archives of Oral Roberts – Sixth of six parts
When King Nebuchadnezzar looked in the fiery furnace where he had just thrown Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, his hair stood up on end! Not only were there three men walking about freely in his furnace, but a Fourth Man had joined them. (See Daniel 3:19-28.)
That Fourth Man ― Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God ― had heard the declaration of faith from these three Hebrews. He had stood up from His seat by the throne of God and said, “Father, I’ll be right back.” And as they were being cast into the furnace, Jesus Himself joined them there. Glory to God!
Are flames of trial roaring at you? Jesus is there to rob them of their pain. Are you bound today, unable to take action? Jesus will free you! Are you in a fiery furnace today? Jesus will bring you out.
Hear the psalmist’s shout of victory: “Even though I may walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no harm, for you, O God, are with me.” (Psalm 23:4 paraphrased).
