Keep Looking for Evidence

From the archives of Oral Roberts

God confirms His Word to us with evidence. Hebrews 11:1 tells us, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

As you wait for your miracle from God, look for those whom the Lord will send you to confirm to you that He is working on your behalf. Watch for those messengers that will come with a good word from the Lord that builds up your faith. Stay alert for signs that God is bringing about your change.

A miracle is coming! Be on the watch for it! Look for evidence on which to base your faith.

As the prophet Elijah sat on Mount Carmel with his face between his knees, he said to his servant, “Go up now, look toward the sea” (I Kings 18:43). The servant went and came back and said, “There is nothing.” Elijah said, “Go again.” And again, the servant went and came back with nothing to report. Again and again – seven times – Elijah sent his servant back to look toward the sea, and on the seventh time, he came back and said, “Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand” (I Kings 18:44).

Evidence had come at last! Elijah quickly said to his servant, “Go warn Ahab that he’d better get his chariot ready and get back to Jezreel or he’s going to get stuck in the mud.” And the Bible says, “It came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain” (I Kings 18:45).

The miracle that’s coming your way may only seem small on the horizon … right now. Still, that’s God’s evidence to you of greater things to come. Get ready for God’s miracle to come pouring into your life!
