Several years ago I was attacked with sickness in my body. The medical report was not good. And the more I prayed, the worse the reports got.
Now when the medical report says one thing – and it’s factual – but the Word of God says another, you have to decide which one you’re going to believe. So I had to make a choice… a conscious decision of my faith. Was I going to resign to the negative report and crawl back into bed and say, “OK, this is the doctor’s report and that’s it,” or was I going to say, “No, that may be the medical diagnosis, but I’m going believe the report of the Lord”?
If I listened to the doctor’s report, fear would try to come in. My only choice was to believe God’s Word. Like Abraham, I chose not to stagger at the promise of God (Romans 4:20).
The report of the Lord says: By His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5 NKJV). His report says, “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sickness” (Matthew 8:17 NKJV). “They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover” (Mark 16:18 NKJV).
I watched every word I said. Instead of saying, “I’m so sick,” I started saying, “I’m getting well.” People would ask me, “Lindsay, are you in denial?” I’d say, “No, I’m not in denial. I have the medical reports. But the Word of God says I am healed.”
I wouldn’t say anything but what the Word of God said. I wasn’t letting the symptoms dictate my life, and I wasn’t lying about it. I was simply declaring the Word of the Lord. Soon the symptoms caught up with my faith, and they began to line up with the Word of God. Today, I am healed!
