Richard Roberts – First of three parts
Have you ever been at a place in your life where you felt as if something had to change?
Bartimaeus was a blind man who sat on the side of the road every day, begging for alms — an outcast of society. Then someone told Bartimaeus about Jesus, and suddenly he realized that he didn’t have to be blind anymore. He made up his mind that it was time for a change. (See Mark chapter 10.)
One day he heard a great commotion coming toward him on the highway. He must have asked someone what was happening, and they told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is coming this way,” because Bartimaeus began to cry out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
“Be quiet!” the people yelled at him. “Don’t bother the Master!” But Bartimaeus just shouted louder, and he would not be stopped!
When Jesus heard the blind man’s desperate cry, He stopped in His tracks. He said, “Bring the blind man to Me.” Bartimaeus flung aside his beggar’s robe, scrambled to his feet, and hurried to the Master.
Jesus asked Bartimaeus, “What do you want Me to do for you?” and he exclaimed, “Lord, I want to receive my sight! I want to see!”
“Your faith has made you whole,” the Lord replied, and instantly the blind man could see!
Are you ready for a dramatic change in your life? Jesus has the power to change things for you just as He did for Bartimaeus. He is coming your way. He waits only to hear your cry of faith!
