One thing I love about God is that He not only tells us what to do and say, but He gives us specific instructions in His Word so we can’t mess things up.
For example, Jesus didn’t tell us just to say something to our mountain of need and it would go. If He had done that, many of us would say, “Oh poor me! This problem is overtaking me,” or, “I’ve got this pain and it’s killing me.” Talk like that would do more harm than good.
The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:7 that we do not walk by sight. We walk by faith. So what we say to our needs or our circumstances is “I’m not moved by what I see. I’m moved by what God’s Word says.” And Jesus said, “If ye have faith, and doubt not … ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea, [and] it shall be done (Matthew 21:21).”
When we speak God’s words, they are words that God has already put His anointing on. And in Isaiah 55:8,11 NLT He says: “My thoughts are completely different from yours … It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.”
So when you have a need, pray God’s Word. They are productive prayers ― prayers that God has anointed to succeed.
