Sometimes God Says “Yes”

From the archives of Oral RobertsFourth of four parts

“Yes” is the answer we all love to hear from God. It’s the answer we want to hear!

One day a man filled with leprosy came to Jesus and fell on his face before Him and cried, “Lord, if You will, You can make me clean.” And Jesus said, “I will. Be thou clean.” And the Bible says, “Immediately the leprosy departed from him” (Luke 5:13).

A few months ago, I went to bed early one evening because I could feel the flu trying to take hold of my body. I was hurting and dizzy and my eyes wouldn’t seem to focus. My darling wife Evelyn called for Richard and Lindsay to come up to the house to pray for me and they came in, laid hands on me, and in one second a “yes” answer came from God. I got out of that bed and haven’t had that thing come back since. Oh, “yes” is such a beautiful answer!

God’s answer to us is sometimes an immediate “yes.” There’s no waiting, and the answer comes and there’s no denying that it’s from God. Trust God for His “yes” to you today. But, if a “yes” answer according to His way is not what you wanted to receive from God, recognize that a “no,” “wait,” or “do this” answer is also an answer from God. God is hearing your prayer and is responding to you in a way that is best for you, even if you can’t understand that right now.

God’s answer to prayer is always one you can trust to be for your greatest benefit.
